UCC Choral Singing Bituing Walang Ningning

Video Credit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O6WjwIJAdQ&feature=related

Caloocan Mabuhay Ka!!

This post is dedicated to those who want to know the steps in this song. Minsan kagapag nag flag ceremony sa Monday morning, the students are required to do this..lahat gumagawa at marunong nito. ako hindi. So I was really ashamed. Good thing ngayon wala akong subject every Monday morning!
Here a video to teach how to do the steps:

enjoy!!

MAPE TV 5's Talentadong Pinoy Man!!

Matagal na po to pero post ko parin!!
Si JR Mape! I had the privilege to interview him for THE CROSSROADS last .... I forgot the date..really long time ago! hehehehe. It was the first time he won in Talentadong Pinoy. It made to the news around the campus not just in Camarin where he truly belongs but also in the 5 campuses of UCC. He's an AB Math 3rd year then. He was really fun & easy to talk to. I'm personally amazed with this guy because he was able to develop those talents from scratch. He just got some of his first instruments from junk! He can do dice stacking, rubiks (blindfolded), play the guitar, violin & a lot more. He's from no musical clan or whatever. He's just a simple guy who tried his luck to showcase his unique talent on TV. He even played violin for me once & I wa struly mesmerized. Ilokano din pala siya.

Here's a video clip:

Video Credit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fiCD09aZVg

Based on some background research I did on the net about him, I have found out that he joined different rubiks contest locally & internationally he ranked 4th, 3rd sometimes 1st! That was really quite unique for a pinoy isn't it? He laong with his younger brother also appeared in WOWOWEE, EATBULAGA & SIS. (spell exposure?)
Another video clip from Bulacan Open 2009:

Although most of us UCCians are poor we stil strive & compete with others. We also have talents that if harnessed can be a source of pride for our fellow students.

We are used to doing things from scratch. We are used of getting the best out of the least. We learn to take advantage of every environment we land to improve ourselves & not just wait of what the university can offer. The real world is our training ground! So who said we lack facilities??

BS PSYCHOLOGY Majors in ABS-CBN It's Showtime

university of caloocan city, working student, buhay working student, phone english teacher, Philippines, http://ucc-estudyante.blogspot.com/,

I was surprised to have a call from my sister & receive the news that my classmastes are on TV!! I quickly looked for a TV but there was none in our boarding house. So I just settled in my sister's narration of what was happening already on TV.

Last Dec. 15, 15 of my classmates & friends from Psychology department bravely treaded the path to the ABS-CBN office & registered themselves as audiences. They got a little help from a tour guide once assigned there (Moises Fuentes & company). It was such a great exoperience for them so I am really happy & proud!

By the way, ate Realyn Castillo was given the privilege to act as a host of the show for some short while & she did it very well.

To view the said episode of IT"S SHOWTIME click here. But beware, the video is not that clear & it is also kind of blurred. Be patient. I am trying my best to look for a clearer copy but its unavailble from the web!

The Crossroads Sacked for Telling the Truth

university of caloocan city, working student, buhay working student, phone english teacher, Philippines, http://ucc-estudyante.blogspot.com/,

My fellow Crossroads staffer had a meeting with Mrs. F last week then after that I've heard that the whole staff is going to be replaced!! I didn't feel neither remorse nor regret. I don't have to. I'd prefer not to be a staff there & cling to the truth than blindly follow & adhere to their rules. I don't wanna be a puppet of the administrtion.

Sour graping??? Oh definitely not!

The inside of the university is higly politicized. It is an emblem of our present government. Press freedom is supressed. If you detract & criticize them you are an enemy. I wonder who will be the new set of staff who will follow blindly the powers-that be.

Phot Credits:www.bulatlat.com/news/5-13/5-13-media.html

I know that the org has some share of blunders also but it is not enough to eliminate them. Just because of an opinionated article implying the truth?? Who are they to tell us what is real?? They are always inside their airconditioned offices. They don't see the university from our eyes. They don't experience standing the whole class, they don't walk along the court with fear that they might be hit by a ball, they don't endure the heat of the noon sun inside the closely crowded rooms, they don't experience being clueless about a lot of subjects they are supposed to master, they don't feel the void being desparately filled with the pageants, activities & programs. They don't experience reciting & at the same time trying to outvoice the noise outside. They definitely don't & will ever understand unless they admit that what's on the paper is true.

Ignorance ends when we try to admit it.

So for now...that our term has ended....I will continue what I promised myself to uphold. the truth. And this blog will be my medium.

Well I'm not just going to stand aside & watch my university sink into the mud. I still can do something!

We all can.

You know we are just a group of people whoe writes what we see. We write the good & bad ones. It's that the bad ones outweigh the good ones. What can we do? Fabricate it & compromise the truth? NO WAY!!

Voter's Registration Extended to January 9, 2010

Here's an article from the Supreme Court site: Click here for the original link.

SC Extends Voters Registration until January 9, 2010

Posted:
Decemberr 15, 2009
By Jay B. Rempillo

Voters for the May 10,
2010 elections can register until January 9, 2010.

Finding the petition
impressed with merit, the Supreme Court, by a unanimous vote, today granted the
petition to extend the voters registration and declared null and void the
Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 8585 insofar as it set the
deadline of voter registration for the 2010 polls on October 31, 2009.

In a nine-page decision penned by Justice Conchita Carpio Morales, the
Court also directed the COMELEC to proceed with dispatch in reopening the
registration of voters and holding the same until January 9, 2010. It said its
decision is immediately executory.

The Court said that it did not find
any ground to hold that the mandate of continuing voter registration cannot be
reasonably held within the period provided by RA 8189, The Voter’s Registration
Act of 1996. It stressed that RA 6646 (The Electoral Reforms Law of 1987) and RA
8436 (An Act Authorizing the COMELEC to Use an Automated Election System in the
May 11, 1998 National or Local Elections and in Subsequent National and Local
Electoral Exercises, Providing Funds Therefor and for Other Purposes) grant the
poll body the power to fix other periods and dates for pre-election activities
“only if the same cannot be reasonably held within the period provided by law.”
There is thus no occasion for the COMELEC to exercise its power to fix other
dates or deadlines therefor, it added.

Citing sec. 8 of RA 8189, the
Court held that Congress itself has determined that the period of 120 days
before a regular election and 90 days before a special election is enough time
for the COMELEC to make all the necessary preparations with respect to the
coming elections. The preparations include (1) completion of project precincts,
(2) constitution of the Board of Election Inspectors, (3) finalizing the
Computerized Voters List, (4) supervision of the campaign period, and (5)
preparation, bidding, printing, and distribution of Voter’s Information Sheet.
The Court said that such determination of Congress is well within the ambit of
its legislative power, which the High Court is bound to respect, and that the
COMELEC’s rule-making power should be exercised in accordance with the
prevailing law.

“The clear text of the law thus decrees that voters be
allowed to register daily during regular offices hours, except during the period
starting 120 days before a regular election and 90 days before a special
election,” said the Court.

The petition before the High Court was filed
by Raymond V. Palatino, a youth sectoral representative under the Kabataan
Party-list, and other concerned citizens. (GR No. 189868, Palatino v. COMELEC,

Are Managers Exempted to Falling Hair???

I ate at Mcdo just a while ago....and just as expected I've roamed my eyes to what was around me and tried to observe whatever catches my eyes. Then I noticed something really obvious & it surely provoked my curiousity.

Managers and powers-that be in all fastfoods & the restaurant I'd worked for before were not using any hairnet unlike the crews. I've pondered this for quite a while then asked "Are Managers Exempted to Falling Hair???" to no one but myself. As we all know, hairnets are used to avoid hair falling on or coming in contact with the food. (It is the dirtiest part of the body).
Most of them do the task of serving food being the cashier just like everybody else. So it's highly possible that they mix the foods with their hairs.
So why not just comply to the rules they themselves impose? Is it their privilege not to? or a privilege to look good though they know that it may risk the quality of food they are serving? I just really can't understand the world sometimes. Those are making the law/rules are the ones allowed to violate them. Is idealism already extinxt in our modern day? No wonder the product of generations that are gradually sprouting are "rejects" ( factory/industry terms). Can you balem them?

12.18.2009 - The National Christmas Party???

Taking my daily trip from the streets of Camarin Caloocan City to the busy & elegant roads of Ortigas, I've been seeing students from different levels carry gifts & foods & wear new clothes for their Christmas party. I've thought for a while & tried to remind myself if GMA again declared Dec 18 as the Christmas party day for all the schools. hahah but then di pala...nagkataon lang!

It's nice to see their eager faces full of anticipation though. Some have even worn gown-like dresses, some were punkistas, some were kikays some were just plain. Like I used to be!

As I was doing my "observation" in the fx taxi I felt sad for not having a camera. I could have taken a shot to post here. But I lost mine when I was held up on my way home last September. So I just borrowed one pic from the net to make this more interesting to read.

Heroes of the Modern UCC - The working Students

university of caloocan city, working student, buhay working student, phone english teacher, Philippines, http://ucc-estudyante.blogspot.com/,
Credits: Sorry I randomly searched the pics above from google images.

Lurking around UCC, observing students, eavesdropping & roaming the streets & mall have awakened my mind about my fellow UCCians dillema. They or should I say WE are all crying for our expenses.

Majority of us is poor. We pay a maximum of 3,000 pesos & a minimum of 800 pesos tution fee yet we still cry for help. Fortunately , we have learned not only to ask for tissue paper to wipe our tears but also to wipe it & worked it out. We are the working students, who I think is becoming a major hero of our own lives. We learned that nothing can take us out of the situation unless we do something about it & we do it vigorously. The heroes I'm talking about are found in SM supermarket, hypermarket, Jollibbee, McDonalds, call centers & on the streets late at night or nearly dawn struggling to survive, & brave the way to classrooms with so little sleep. Sometimes we pride ourselves as those experienced in jobs even before graduation but on the other side we are "missers". We miss a lot of school activities which are supposedly harnessing our talents & gifts. We miss the bonding times with our friends & classmates. We miss some lessons due to absences & tardiness. We miss a lot. But we are still thnakful that we are given the chance to change the path to take in the future.

Writing in Techie World

Hmmm...At first glance...what would the picture mean to you?? What does it say?
Has it ever occured to you that what this picture depicts is inevitable in our modern techie world. Even for some writers.
I've been a contributor to my school publication/newspaper (although I'm not that really good). Ive experienced even for a short while how other writers feel. How their freedom of expression are suppressed. How they have smoothly adapted to the new world that computers are creating. We have gardually been relying with word doc, word pad, computer, keyboard. We have been missing the real menaing of writing. Yes! I am included there. I've been too lazy to inscribe words & express myself through the use of a pen. I'd rather prefer seeing the blinking cursor wink at me when everything is blank. I have forgotten that WRITING as in holding a pen & scratching it against a surface is still the best way of 'writing". Seeing your penmanship even if it's not legible sometimes expresses who you really are when you write. The feelings incorporated with it & the sentiments accompanying it. I remember writing this short letter-styled story in computer for our school's literary folio. While I was doing it I was like crying......the emotion flows within me like a river. And I've even included "that" there. But I've thought to put some font style on it. Like the faded & blurred letters from tears or something wet to give more emphasis to the emotion. Yeah. I've tried to look for that style in the computer but there was none.
Computers do make our life convenient & help us in many ways but it can never replace the hands that we use. The hands that do the "dirty" work.

Pera sa Lumang Cellphone

Do your old Nokia 3310, 3210 & old model unused/broken cellphones clutter your life? No! Don't think of throwing it away in the trash can. Think again. According to studies it's harmful to the environment since it has ttoxic elements inside. There's another solution. SELL IT HERE!! Nawalan ka na ng kalat nakatulong ka pa kay Inang Kalikasan at higit sa lahat nahkapera ka pa.

Why would other people want my junk?? That must surely come to your mind!

According to a blog I've read & some research, it contains a really little amount of gold that if accumulated can be make big money. Like what Gyeonggi Province in South Korea did.

Now don't expect to crack open an old cell phone and find it gleaming like a polished nugget. Gold is used sparingly for plating contacts and in bonding wires within the integrated circuits. Computer circuit boards have far more gold. Exotic military and space equipment might be rich with it.

Ooops!! kahit buksan mo yang luma mong cellphone ngayon e wala kang mahuhukay na ginto. For your information di mo makikita yun kung di ka eksperto sa ganitong mga bagay. At kung sakaling makuha mo man ay almost wala ding silbi. Dapat itong ipunin at paramihin bago mapakinabangan

So what are you waiting for?? Sell it to the link above & get the most out of your trash!

Ooopss!! di po to adverstisement or promotion churva! Isa lang po akong simpleng mamamayan na concerned sa ating kalikasan!

2010 Elections! Vote & Register

My Turn

Boto Mo, Boses Mo!

Magparehistro, Bumoto, May Pag-asa Pa!

Your Vote, Your Voice!

Those are just a few of the messages on different tarpaulins that are scattered & posted on MRT’s, LRT’s electric posts persuading qualified ones especially the youth to vote this coming May 2010 National Elections. Millions of pesos are being spent for these ads. They are taking so many efforts to encourage us, the youth & first time voters to vote.

Have you ever thought why it’s such a big deal??

Dahil san mo man tingnan, tayo pa rin ang pag-asa ng bayan. Oo gasgas na nga. At madami na din ang di naniniwala pero tayo na ngayon ang nagiging mayorya. This is not only based on our national hero’s claim. According to an article from Philippine star, roughly 30 million voters will come from the age bracket of 18-40 years old (United Nation’s definition of youth). And we, (mostly those who are in their 2nd year) are one of them.

Narinig mo na rin ba yung high school teacher mo noon na nagsabi na bata ang populasyon? That is based on the 1995 consensus. So it’s 13 years ago which means that that statement has been profoundly taking effect through time. Di naman babata ang matatanda diba?

We can shape our nation’s future. That is….. if we decide to go out to register for the meantime.

Nothing could be accomplished unless we take the first step. So here are some guidelines on how you can register.

Postal I.D.3. Student's I.D. or library card na may lagda ng opisyal ng paaralan.4. Senior Citizen's ID.5. Driver's license.6. NBI/PNP clearance.7. Passport8. SSS/GSIS ID9. PRC License.

Note: Registration is from December 02, until October 31, 2009 - This was extended to November.

It is easy to be cynical. It is easy to stand on the side lines, throw jeers and send out sighs of disappointment about the issues that bombard our country. It is easier to lay back, throw eloquent criticisms at the government, and enjoy the privilege of being an anonymous disgruntled Filipino citizen. But to actually endeavor to be part of the solution-- is a more noteworthy task than watching the Philippines sink deeper into its own mud hole.” – a quote from one blogger. I forgot the name.

Buhay Working Student

I miss the times when I greet & text every body a "gudnyt" & asleep afterwards. Since I worked here as a phone english teacher to koreans I've been sending them "goodmorning" & sleep afterwards. That's been one of my sentiments. A lot of my friends, classmates, schoolmates envy me for that. They are missing something so simple & unnoticable yet very significant to me. The time to do everything & at the same time have some time to savor them so that the memory lingers.

Everything in my world now is under time pressure. There's this alarm clock that keeps ticking inside my head whenever I'm in school. I have to hurry. There is no single minute to waste & appreciate little things that really makes me happy. When I get some so liittle free time, I have to spend them with my bed. I have to rest my tired body. Even the 30-minute break which should be used for some quality time with classmates should be used to compensate for my lack of sleep.

I know that I'm doing the right thing. But not all right things make us happy. I am happy to where I am now. But I'm sad for what I've been missing the whole time.

3rd Year Industrial Psychology Majors (2nd Sem) - The Subjects

  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Aesthetics
  • Elective 1 - Human Behavior in Organization
  • Elective 2 - Personnel Management
  • Vertebrate Anatomy
  • Educational Psychology
  • Office Procedures
I think our professors now are all very good. (Prof. Dantay, Matula, Tulod, Yaptangco, Tumambing & Tarnate) Because they have induced curiousity & motivation in me. I am now trying realy hard in all my subjects because of them. I also met some who are really strict in attendance & projects & most of all the one I'm dreading PUNCTUALITY. I've already been reprimanded by two of my professors so now I'm literally dragging myself out of the bed every morning. Another problem I encounter is the icy cold morning running water. I now fear taking a bath in the morning, but I do it anyway...no choice!

Second Sem

I am finally feeling the pressure of the 2nd semester of 2009-2010 school year! Projects here...projects there... payments here..payments there...assignments here..assignments there. Ah It's very tiresome yet really gratifying at the same time. This is another challenge I have to face. I now have to be more serious in my endeavour for a diploma. I have new classmates so I am so challenged to do my best although I lack time in preparation. So far I can say I'm doing better than expected! I get higher scores than those who aren't worki8ng. I actively participate in all the subjects' group discussion & recitation. I am so happy to be back to school again.
I've been thinking lately...... about all the things that passes through my delicate ear. They all sound familiar but strange. I notice that I'm having difficulty in retaining them in my memory and also trying to absorb them in my system. But with due effort I am improving.

Psych Week 2009

Last Sunday, November 29, 2009 our department had The '09 Psych Week. We had different events like quiz bee & Psych feud which imitated the game mechanics of the GMA show The Family Feud! I wasn't able to watch the latter but I was able to experience the former (Quiz Bee) not as a contestant but as the host!
I was really giddy when Michael, my fellow 3rd year student approached me, asked about my work schedule & asked if I could host the quiz bee along with him. He said we'd be reading the questions. I didn't hesitate so I said YES immediately although I dont have any experience doing it.
The Quiz Bee day came & I was very nervous & anxious at first. I tried to convince myself & my partner that we could do it. And so it begun!!
The start was a bit ridiculous. My partner & I stuttered because of the unclear guidelines which we read & some revised questions. But as the event passed by & we finished the easy round, everything became easy. I felt at ease so I just acted naturally without reading the scripts I have prepared. I was satisfied with the job. Not bad for a total amateur although someone commented that she couldn't understand me. I think it's the american acccent that I used that's not understandable. Well anyway I have though of it several times & realized it wouldn't do me any good if I linger on that memory. What's important is that I did my best. I don't care if they are pleased, as long as I did the job assigned to me. I felt happy & enjoyed the event. I hope I'll be given oppotunities to do the same again!! It was frightening to see a lot of people & know that they have probing ears. Well it's inevitable. I care less.
I hope to procure some pictures form the event next time!! I didn't have a camera then so there's no waay I can put some pics here.....hopefuly soooonn!!

The Book Lover's Club in Camarin

The executives from Anvil Publishing

This MIBF event logo

The Manila International Book Fair in Mall of Asia
There were different company stalls showcasing their wonderful books.

Books!! Books!!

If you are a book lover then you should enlist yourself in the Book Lover's Club in Camarin. It's a newly-established club in UCC & is now recognized by the university through the unselfish efforts of Prof. Francisco, the new lady librarian (sorry I forgot her name) & the club president Mr. Renan, a BS TLE junior. I myself is a member of the club & I got to interview Renan as a senior staff of the "then" The Crossroads. I was able to finish the article but I'm not sure if it will get published due to the afore-mentioned "problem".

Since it's debut in the university it has been conducting different fund-raising programs to make our beloved library more conducive for learning & studying, like selling tickets & contests. As a member of the club it's also our duty to take turns in rendering services to the library. We get to be the assistant librarian for the meantime. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do this due to my work commitments. But if I'll have the time I definitely will. It also conducts seminars like the one we had before entitled "The Book Binding Seminar". There was also the field trip for the members to MOA when the MIBF was held last September 16-20. It was filled with different fun & educational activities according to what I've read & heard. (huhu I wasn't able to come again)

Their recent accomplishment is the aircondition in the library which is now fully functional. Hmmm...it's really now good to stay in the library & spend the day researching. I am still full of anticipations for this club to do good for our university. I know that in the years to come this will be one of the best clubs in the university.

Payment Schemes

university of caloocan city, working student, buhay working student, phone english teacher, Philippines, http://ucc-estudyante.blogspot.com/,

1. TUTION FEE

In University of Caloocan City

there are 2 schemes for tution fee.

Scheme 1 - for Caloocan City Residents - the tution fee ranges from 1,000 - 1,500

But before you could ever gain this you have to go through a lot.

1. You have to show your high school & elementary diploma saying that you grdauated in a school within the boundaries of Caloocan City.

2. Your parent(s) must have a voter's ID showing that the are registered in caloocan City.

3. For originally non-Caloocan resident like me..I had to register in COMELEC, show my voter's certificate, have a confirmation signed by the registrar that you ae now on the scheme 1.

Scheme 2 - For non-Caloocan residents

I used to be in this scheme. I paid around 2,000 - 3,000 pesos when I was in first year. It really looks cheap already when compared to other university's fee but when you compare it to your fellow classmates in the scheme 1 you'd think that it's unfair!

You can pay partially when you are in Scheme 2 - but you have to pay the rest before the midterm or final exam. For scheme 1 it's also possible to pay partially but you'd have to make a letter stating your reason & you have to be there personally.
2. Org Fee - this one is based on the department you belong to. For instance In Psychology Department, we have the Psychological Society - we pay 40 pesos each. Other courses pay 70 pesos & less.
3. The Crossroads - here we pay 4o pesos each sem. But just recently we did not pay for it since there is some problem between the org & the admin.
4. There's also the insurance which is I think around 15 pesos. This is paid every school year.
5. When you'll be having computer subjects you also have to pay extra for the lab fee - it's for the use of computer & aircon & etc.

UCC Institutional Promotion

Here's an Institutional Promotion made by a brilliant UCCian named aftertimo (name on youtube)

BS PSYCHOLOGY Majors

Currently, there are 3 majors in BS PSYCHOLOGY

1. IP - Industrial Psychology - as the name suggests this is about HR. The theories & organizational strategies in a working place.

Probable Jobs: HR Staff, Office Staff & etc.

2. SPED - Special Education - this focuses on educating special children.

Practices involved: Sign Language, Knowledge on different cases of special children.

Probable Jobs: SPED Teacher

3. GC - Guidance & Counselling - this focuses on school settings

Probable Jobs: School Guidance Counsellor & etc...

Department Head of Psychology Department: Dr. Bernadeth Enriquez

* Don't say BS Psycho if you don't to be glared at by Psych majors. It should be Psych pronounced like SAYK
*The majors are determined on the 2nd semester of 3rd Year - You'll be the one to decide about that but it will also depend on your GWA or generalweighted average.

Note: The majors do not limit a student to only one type of job. For example an IP major doesn't necessarily mean that he/she can't be a school guidance counsellor or vice versa.

UCC Chorale Members

Guesting at the Phase 1 Auditorium UCC Dance Troupe Concert October 2007

Sing for Me, the GMA Christmas Choir Festival 09 December 2007 Marikina Sports Center

Prof. Ernani Baetiong, UCC Chorale head

University of Caloocan City Chorale (UCC Chorale) is the premiere cultural ambassador of the proud city of heroes, Caloocan City and the institution of higher learning enshrined in its name.

History

Re-established in July 2006, the choir has since stretched its borders by not only performing in university and city functions, but also to other high-profile engagements such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) "Sing for Me" program which aims to raise funds for under-privileged children, and the Department of Tourism - National Capital Region's (DOT-NCR) "Paskong-Pasko sa Metro Manila 2007 Chorale Competition."

The Conductor

The chorale's conductor is Professor Ernani Baetiong, composer, arranger and conductor who studied choral conducting under the wings of renowned National Artist for Music Maestro Lucio San Pedro at Sta. Isabel College, and Sr. Mary Placid Abejo of St. Scholastica's College of Music.

Originally trained in solo instrument performance, he first studied under legendary brass band conductor Professor Benedicto San Jose, and his son Romy San Jose, Doctor of Music who earned his degree from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music. He lated moved on to train with Professor Garry Silangcruz of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and faculty member of the UST Conservatory.

In his young life as a musician he ventured into applying his skills and knowledge to train church choirs and fellow musicians. He has spent more than twenty years offering his services to churches and has helped train hundreds of singers and accompanists in these times.

In college at the University of Santo Tomas College of Science (where he took-up his pre-med B.S. Biology), he went back to his roots of playing the flute and joined the UST ROTC Band and sought further training by momentarily joining the UST Singers as trainee, under the baton of Prof. Fidel Calalang, musical genius extraordinaire who steered the UST Singers into winning the title Choir of the World in 1995.

To further expand his horizons, he joined and trained with the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) as Artist/Teacher where he became part of critically acclaimed productions such as Operetang Tatlong Pera (adaptation of Three Penny Opera) starring Monique Wilson, Mario O'Hara and Lou Veloso, Summer Dreamin' (adaptation of A Mid-Summer Night's Dream) and the Laboratory Theater presentation of Buhay Lotto. In this field he earned his knowledge through the help of outstanding theater personalities such as Palanca Award Winner Rody Vera, Women's Award winner Dr. Glecy Atienza, Ma. Gloriosa Cabangon, Maribel Legarda, Soxie Topacio, Ernie Cloma, Raul Alfonso, Raffy Tejada, Nilo Yacat, and Noel Cabangon. He studied Modern Dance/Jazz Ballet at the Cultural Center of the Philippines . He also became Musical Director and Artistic Advisor of Dulaang Apolonio Samson and staged the riveting Ka Apolonio Samson, a musical about the Philippine Independence Movement of 1896, which was awarded a spot in the 1st National Theater Festival at Intramuros, Manila.

In July of 2003 in recognition of his respectable musical works and contributions, he was tapped as Juror of the 16th Awit Awards by the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry (PARI), for which he screened the category of Ballads, in which the entry Hanggang (Wency Cornejo) won the year's award for Best Ballad Song.
And from hereon, he has and still does arrangement/composition/training stints for various corporate clients (including Triple-V Group of Companies, Oracle, AMA Computer College, Ayala Land Inc., PLDT, Philippine Maritime Institute and the Ayala Museum) and churches (Catholic, Aglipayan and Lutheran).

In June of 2006 he was appointed as Conductor of the revitalized University of Caloocan City Chorale, which has since retrofitted itself away from the conventional notion of chorale and mixed voice singing, and towards the path of an all-around show choir, not only focused on singing, but now a total entertainment package rolled into one, with acts and dances similar to Broadway Musicals, to skits and spiels depicting real-life situations infused into song and presented as a complete storyline onstage.

Composition

The groups is composed of students from the University of Caloocan City. Being an honor's program, members are granted scholarship benefits and are required to maintain an above average grade point average, making the group composed not only of talented individuals, but also promising students in each of their chosen fields of study.

Awards

University of Caloocan City's Most Outstanding Organization for School Year 2007-2008
Paskong Pasko sa Metro Manila Chorale Competition 6th Place
Plaque of Appreciation from the DSWD for contributions to the Sing for Me project

First Day of Class

..hello!!..you have landed here so I guess you are curious about my school just like me few years ago!!

Let's assume that this is the first day of class so before anything's done introductions are essential...

I made this to help the inquiries of some UCC & soon to be UCC students from different campuses.

Just call me Ms. Mai Nipin. (Ms. Impatient) I'm from UCC-Camarin 3rd year BS Psychology student major in Industrial Psychology....I'm also a senior staff of the now denounced The Crossroads - the university official publication. I am a working student struggling to make ends meet kahit mura na tuition natin (UCCian). I'm working full time in a call center but it's a little different from call centers like Teletech, Convergys & etc.Scheme 1 na nga pla ako...hmmm...ano pa ba>> Well I think that would be all for now!!
