UCC Main, Huli sa Facilities?

There was this discussion on the University of Caloocan City FB Group wall about the facilities of main campus, and why some students/alumni thought it's somehow neglected. Iba't ibang opinyon...

We can't deny the fact that Camarin campus students seem to have better facilities than those from main. Some are saying "Main campus pa naman."

How about you? What's you take on this?

Photos to Tour You Around!

I rarely go around the campus [Camarin] nowadays. I only get to see my classmates once a week so I only update myself about the latest happenings through the help of Facebook, the latest & most used social networking service.

As I was browsing through the photos of my friends & classmates I saw pictures of them attending together different school activities which I didn't get to attend. Even the class picture which makes me a little melancholic. Haisst.. that's what it pays to be a working student. But of course I'm not complaining.

Another thing that caught my attention was one of JOZEN's (AB English sophomore) photo album. It was entitled 'Photography'. The inquisitive mind of mine got intrigued so I opened it & hoala!! Different interesting & somewhat curiosity-inducing pictures appeared on my monitor. Browsing through it made me feel cozy around campus although I haven't actually been there.

The best ones in my opinion are posted below:

1. "Who Said Windows Only Function as Windows?"

I'm not sure if this one was done for picture sake or for utility but I find this amusing, strange & unmannered.

2. "A smile in a Seemingly Gloomy Day!"

Blocks of woods are scattered in front of the Fil-Chi rooms. This picture depicts the university's high need for maintenance. If these' nails happen to meet the by passers' feet, I'm not sure if our mini clinic will be ready to accommodate such cases. But who cares? It hasn't happened yet so why bother? Smile.

3. "UCCians & Ants' Coexistence"

Ecosystem abounds around campus. Serves another purpose I guess. This can also be used for Science classes. I'm telling you, if you are in UCC you will learn to be very resourceful.

4. "One Cloudy Day"

This is located on the right side of the Fil-Chi rooms... a water tank. It used to leak I think. Bamboo trees are planted behind it. The trees are thick enough to be inhabited by pandas.

4. "Heaven is Within Reach"

Now that another facility, the Recom Building is provided, our dreams are getting farther from impossible. Heaven is indeed within reach.

These pictures were taken by Marc Lumabi [daw sabi ni Jozen]. Thanks! These are really great pictures.

Now that you've just had a free tour it's time for you to pay. Say your comments reactions about the pictures. If you can make a title for each what would they be & why? Your opinions will be highly appreciated!

Note: The pictures above are not mine. So if you plan to grab or repost them please make sure to put the same
CREDITS okay? Pictures are considered one's POSSESSION. So if you grab/repost them without permission is like STEALING. You have the right to do as you please but also be reminded that RIGHT comes with RESPONSIBILITY.

New Shaded Pathway(Camarin) --Picture Update!

Today: 11/21/10 at 3:00 pm

this new structure is currently being constructed for the convenience of the students. I'm glad to see improvements in the campus. But I think if metal bars will be placed (serve as chairs) along this structure it will be very crowded & the space will not be enough to accommodate both the students sitting & the passerby.

To whom this may concern:

Calling the school ADMIN or SSC
A guest from this BLOG complained about the CR's in Camarin.
here's what he/she has to say:
hi! tanong lang po, san po ba ang CR sa UCC Camarin bukod sa Educ building?
--- sira kasi yung sa Educ . test namin last sat, walang CR na ok. dumating
ako around 8 at naiihi na ko, 9am pa ang exam, tapos sira ang CR, at kahit
nagtanong pa ako sa labas

wala talaga akong napakiusapan. malapit na 9am kaya bumalik na ako sa
UCC, tatlong oras akong
nagtiis, ihing-ihing na ako during the exam.

Kawawa naman ang examinee na to. I'm sure it affected his/her exam performance somehow.
Yes, this has been a problem for quite along time now...
pero I think only 2 are functional.
Let's HOPE & PRAY this NEED will be addressed SOON.
BUT
UCCians..let's also REMEMBER that we should know how to maintain & observe the CLEANLINESS of the facilities given to US. We also have a role to make this possible.
Huwag sana tayong maging SALAULA.

The New UCC Building -- to be fully functional in SY 2010-2011

It's been confirmed!! ---- the new UCC building in Camarin will be fully functional next school year. (SY 2010-2011) I am so excited!! -- unfortunately the seniors now won't be able to use it..too bad for them..pero okay lang at least nakita nila?? (pede n bang consolation yun?)

hehhe anyways..according to my source, Prof. Joan Tulod all the 16 rooms will be divided into two so all in all we will have 32 new classrooms next year!! and...magkakaroon na daw po ng HRM na course. gusto daw yun ni Mayor Recom. 5 rooms will be alotted to them as their laboratory.. so pwede ng ipamalita!!

when I was walking in the street behind the NOW UCC I couldn't help myself but smile & be proud..it was truly a good structure..sending me a message that soon I can justify proudly that my school is indeed a great one!!! not just basing on the graduates it produces but also on it's structure.

yung likod ngayon ay gagawing harap..there we'll see the front view of the school beaming proudly it's name. there's the arch which is a typical structure in almost all universities.

pero habang naglalkad ako nun nagsisi ako..wala akog camerang dala! too bad..but surely next time will never be the same.

Education
Mayor announces P38-M new building construction for University of Caloocan City

By
Jul 21, 2009 - 4:50:24 AM

MANILA, July 22 (PNA) -- Caloocan Mayor Enrico Recom Echiverri announced Tuesday that the local government has already began the construction of a P38 million new building for the University of Caloocan City (UCC) campus in Camarin.

The four-storey, 16 classroom, is expected to be commissioned in July 2010.

Echiverri said that the city government decided to expand the UCC Camarin facility due to its increasing enrollment.

Currently, due to space limitations in UCC's main campus located along Gen. San Miguel street, Sangandaan, a number of its colleges were assigned to different campuses in Tandang Sora along 7th Avenue; Buena Park in University Hills Subdivision; and Camarin.

The UCC is the city sole tertiary education institution for marginalized students.

However, under the Echiverri administration flagship building Schools for the Futurescheme, major construction projects for the university will go hand-in-hand with renovation and upgrading of its existing buildings and facilities.

This scheme is alongside other initiatives such as the school improvement plan to address UCC's ever increasing school population, he noted.

Either new buildings will be added or undergo major refurbishments under the scheme because it is very important for the city and its residents that we invest in education, Echiverri added.

UCC registrar Marilyn De Jesus said that the school has a total student population of a little over 10,500 undergraduate and postgraduate enrollees.

De Jesus said their main campus in Caloocan South has 4,985 enrollees while their Camarin Campus in Caloocan North has a population of 5,698 students. (PNA)

"the building is almost done. beaming with the administration's flagship color royal blue & yellow. It is really a great help for us UCCians but I think not the color. when we were having classes in NR rooms especially when it's sunny day it's really an eyesore seeing the building splendent with royal blue & yellow. Iam not complaining. I am just simply saying that maybe we can tone down the color so that our eyes wouldn't hurt that much. I can't even stare at the building longer than 3 minutes." I hope to post pictures later.

( as promised..i updated this and the pictures are there.)

it is not yet functional as of the moment and I don't know when they plan to use it. there are still remaining things to fix. I've heard there (is) (will) be a basement parking here.
