UCCian Clinches 5th Place in October 2011 CPA Board Exams

In a university as humble as ours, we only wish & hope to pass our respective licensure & board exams. (Don't get me wrong. I'm not degrading our university or anything. I'm actually very proud of it.) But I think it's not the case with Arch Pinili Sanchez, one of the new breeds of CPAs UCC has produced.

Our TOP-NOTCH, Mr. ARCH PINILI SANCHEZ with his family!

This UCC alumnus from main just clinched that highly-coveted 5th place of the October 2011 CPA Board Exams garnering an impressive score of 92.86%. Can you believe it? Wow! As in WOW! He just made history for UCC. I remember one schoolmate told me that there was a time in UCC's history when the course Accountancy was about to be 'phased out'. But look at it now...producing one of the country's finest professionals.

Here are the top 10 PASSERS!

See how he outranked alumni of other prestigious universities like UST & UP & FEU?

Crediting Units Earned from Other Schools

At dahil sa tinatamad akong magtype, pinicturan ko na lang.

From student's handbook/manual page 29

By the way ALCU stands for Association of Local Colleges and Universities.

from wikipedia:

The Association of Local Colleges and Universities or simply ALCU is composed of thirty-three (33) local colleges and universities of thePhilippines.[1] ALCU is working closely with the Senate Committee on Education, which is headed by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, in legislations that benefit existing local colleges and universities.[2][3]

The primary thrust of ALCU is to improve the quality of instruction, research, and extension of its member schools and to provide value public tertiary education, especially to the poor and disadvantaged youth.

The Association has created in the later part of 2003 the Commission on Accreditation, Inc., which is working closely with the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP).

During the investiture of Atty. Adel A. Tamano at the Justo Albert Auditorium of the PLM, he mentioned his plan of drafting the best-practices manual for local colleges and make it a project of the ALCU.[4]

Donate a Book Program for the Library!

Calling all graduates or anybody who'd like to help fellow UCCians out there!

I'm starting this
UCC Alumni at Work program. And I'm encouraging everybody to donate your old books (textbooks, novels etc) to the library.

I once thought of just giving my old books to an individual, but I thought that 'sharing' of knowledge & wisdom would probably end there. So why not give it to the library where a lot of students could benefit & not just one?

Isn't it nice to stock up our library with books that would be just set aside in our closets and equip the present UCCians' minds? Wouldn't it be fulfilling to pass on the knowledge that we have? And lastly wouldn't it be great to give back to the university that honed our intellects? If you say yes, then what are you waiting for?

Please contact me by LEAVING a COMMENT below or sending an email to

For suspicious ones, don't worry we will provide a picture proving that the books are indeed donated. And I will go to the library at Camarin campus next week to ask about what books they are lacking. We might need that.

I've already gathered 4 books from few people I know and still waiting for more. Here are the books I've gathered so far.

Mac Arthur by Bob Ong - this might not be that academical but woah everybody who knows Bob Ong might agree that behind his words talking shit are important lessons concealed in satirical lines. This book depicts the life of ....(I think I've said much already.)

Stainless Longganisa by Bob Ong - an inspirational book for writers and writers wannabe.

Human Behavior in Organization by Jose P. Leveriza - this was a text book for our Human Behavior in Organization class (for Psych studes 3rd year first sem)

4. Educational Psychology by Anselmo D. Lupdag - for Educational Psychology (for Psych students)

Quotes from :

The best of my education has come from the public library... my tuition fee is a bus fare and once in a while, five cents a day for an overdue book. You don't need to know very much to start with, if you know the way to the public library. ~Lesley Conger

We may sit in our library and yet be in all quarters of the earth. ~John Lubbock
