New Student Handbook!

after much hype caused by students

woaah!! at last we now have the much awaited students' handbook -- BUT ---

it's only available to 1st year to 3rd year students.

Too bad for seniors out there.

My batch has waited for this for more than 3 years..but we still ended up not possessing them.

well I see the point why!

at least may mga estudyante na nagpapahiram!

This is such a relief for me. At last from now on I can have concrete basis for any information I share to fellow & aspiring UCCians every time they have questions!

New Shaded Pathway(Camarin) --Picture Update!

Today: 11/21/10 at 3:00 pm

this new structure is currently being constructed for the convenience of the students. I'm glad to see improvements in the campus. But I think if metal bars will be placed (serve as chairs) along this structure it will be very crowded & the space will not be enough to accommodate both the students sitting & the passerby.

.hopefully this is the last semester!

3. TAYO MISMO - (meaning of the ACRONYM not yet known by the author)

4. KAKASA - (meaning of the ACRONYM not yet known by the author)

By the way, I hope ganito na lang palagi. This can lessen the garbage that can be brought by those fliers & etc.

Don't you think so??

September 18-23 is the CAMPAIGN period. (changed)

September 25 (7am-7pm) - ELECTION DAY!

So guys let's exercise our right top VOTE!!

PAMANA ng WIKA was a SUCCESS!!

[students watching the PLAY!]

the ticket was for 120 pesos!!

The Cast.

I just can't really think that a university as small & as humble as ours can have such a good PRODUCTION!

Although honestly I wasn't able to watch it (I bought a ticket but ended up selling it for 20 pesos - coz I was too busy that day-sayang=( ]......

...but based from the feedback of all those who've watched IT WAS A REAL SUCCESS!!

Congratulations to the production staff, artists & all those who were involved!!

I'm pretty sure they've all been through a very thorough practice & rehearsals.

Film Showing for Psych Seniors: SYBIL

Sybil is a 1973 book by Flora Rheta Schreiber about the treatment of Sybil Dorsett (a pseudonym for Shirley Ardell Mason) for dissociative identity disorder (then referred to as multiple personality disorder) by her psychoanalyst, Cornelia B. Wilbur.

The book was made into two movies of the same name, once in 1976 and again as a television movie in 2007.

Mason is given the pseudonym "Sybil" by her therapist to protect her privacy. Originally in treatment for social anxiety and memory loss, after extended therapy involving amobarbital and hypnosis interviews Sybil manifests sixteen personalities. Wilbur encouraged Sybil's various selves to communicate and reveal information about her life.

Described personalities

The book begins with a list of Sybil's "alters", together with the year in which each appeared to have dissociated from the central personality. The names of these selves were also changed to ensure privacy.

  • Sybil Isabel Dorsett (1923), the main personality
  • Victoria Antoinette Scharleau (1926), nicknamed Vicky, self-assured and sophisticated
  • Peggy Lou Baldwin (1926), assertive, enthusiastic, and often angry
  • Peggy Ann Baldwin (1926), a counterpart of Peggy Lou but more fearful than angry
  • Mary Lucinda Saunders Dorsett (1933), a thoughtful, contemplative, and maternal homebody
  • Marcia Lynn Dorsett (1927), an extremely emotional writer and painter
  • Vanessa Gail Dorsett (1935), intensely dramatic
  • Mike Dorsett (1928), one of Sybil's two male selves, a builder and a carpenter
  • Sid Dorsett (1928), the second of Sybil's two male selves, a carpenter and a general handyman
  • Nancy Lou Ann Baldwin (date undetermined), interested in politics as fulfillment of biblical prophecy and intensely afraid of Roman Catholics
  • Sybil Ann Dorsett (1928), listless to the point of neurasthenia
  • Ruthie Dorsett (date undetermined), a baby and one of the less developed selves
  • Clara Dorsett (date undetermined), intensely religious and highly critical of Sybil
  • Helen Dorsett (1929), intensely afraid but determined to achieve fulfillment
  • Marjorie Dorsett (1928), serene, vivacious, and quick to laugh
  • The Blonde (1946), a nameless perpetual teenager with an optimistic outlook
The book's narrative describes Sybil's selves gradually becoming co-conscious, able to communicate and share responsibilities, and having musical compositions and art published under their various names. Wilbur attempts to integrate Sybil's various selves, first convincing them via hypnosis that they are all the same age, then encouraging them to merge together. At the book's end, a new, optimistic self called "The Blonde" emerges, preceding Sybil's final integration into a single, whole individual with full knowledge of her past and present life

Here we are while watching the movie.

Our Prof. Dangla (clad in yellow shirt) required us to watch this movie for our PSYCHOTHERAPY class.

I think it was nice..but I couldn't completely understand the whole story since it was too noisy in the nearby area. AB Math students were also having a program just few meters away from us. In times like this WE UCCians really are very RESOURCEFUL!!

Before the film showing started..the people assigned for the materials had a hard time looking for a ROOM & equipments necessary for it.

I've heard someone saying:

"Sana may Audio-visual ROOM tayo! "

Kelan kaya tayo magkakaroon nun no??

Everything is getting more & more MODERNIZED nowadays..I hope we can also be able to keep up with the fast-paced academic evolution.

The Crossroads Anomaly!??

A certain
RANDY L. MACAPAGAL is accusing the current Editor in Chief of the "The Crossroads", the official publication of the University of Caloocan City of corruption. He expressed this through a message on my facebook account. I've learned earlier that he also sent the same exact message to another UCCian on FACEBOOK.!!

He said:

CLICK the image below to see clearly!

but after a while the 'USER' of the account withdrew his statement saying:

"

The other UCCian I was referring to has this to say:

"received this message earlier this afternoon from Randy L. Macapagal which is not even an acquaintance. Anyway, IMO it's quite disturbing and disbelieving due to absence of any concrete evidence. Basically the said indirect allegation were mostly debatable not including the bank account that holds at least 100,000 pesos. IMO, a 100,000 pesos in a bank account if proven is quite hard to explain not unless the alleged can really produce such wealth considering his/her financial stability. Anyway, can we provide further more information about the alleged person?"

*****************************

In my opinion this
Randy Macapagal sent it to me deliberately for few reasons.

Anyway, it is in your hands which to believe..but I CERTAINLY hope that the alleged person (EIC) can at least let US all know of his reaction to this.

It doesn't necessarily mean that he has to defend himself. right??

Although we are not sure of the truth or falsity of this, I think as a UCCian..I & WE deserve to know what's behind all this.

I don't believe in this unless I get a concrete proof.

Karate-Do Competition!!

No guts..no glory!!

indeed.

This is what I've learned after watching a part of the said competition here in Camarin!!.

Today, September 12, 2010 BS Criminology students gathered at the UCC Camrin Covered Court for their annual Karate-Do Competition...

This is the third time I've witnessed such..

BUT

I MUST say this year's event is the most extravagant so far!

They have live bands playing the songs...although they were disturbing those who were conducting classes ..it was fun!

They played old rock songs.

female division

the sound system was great as well!

by the way..for those who don't know..this event is for BS Criminology students.

by the way.SORRY I can't post the winner as of the moment since the event is still on GOING.I'm also not sure if I can get it from them..

kung sinuman po ang may result diyan..kindy share it so others would also know.

this is Mai Nipin...writing from the BLUE PC shop in front o CAMARIN campus!

BSOAD Major in Office Management Uniform

I see BSOAD students in UCC Camarin walk gracefully.. donned with this very professional-looking uniform. They seem to be ready for the corporate world they are about to venture in in the very near future.
They are the batch 2010-2011 BSOAD major in Office Management.

Thanks to Prof. Joan Tulod for these photos. (the one clad in pink)
I have honestly commented on her FB account that she could have been mistaken to be one of the students if she's also wearing their uniform. What do you think? hehehe... I really wanna see her wear that.

I like their blazer..the neckline seems just so uncommon & strangely good.
How about you?? Do you want your OJT niform to be featured here??? them let us know!
send your pics with the ff. info:

Just Another Photo Update!

What Have You Done UCCian??

I've visited the Recom Building today, Sunday August 29.

...just a usual sight seeing in the school...

One room caught my attention though.

..this is located in the ground floor!

the dirt scattered everywhere.

A plastic of water

OMG!!

graffiti on the newly painted wall.

What's does this all imply?

We UCCians don't know how to take care of our FACILITIES.

It's not the Administration's fault. We just can't afford to pay a lot off MAINTENANCE staff...

Why don't we do it ourselves? Not that we have to clean.

We just have to be responsible in throwing our garbage & using the facilities.

haisst...

ang sakit niyo sa ulo!

sana mahuli kung sin man may gawa niyan!
