The University of Caloocan City was formed in 2004 out of Caloocan City Polytechnic College, which had been founded in 1971.

Its first programs are Bachelor's of Science degrees in Industrial Education (BSIE) and B.S. Business Technology (BSBT).

The school had first been located in a building at Caloocan High School. It transferred to its present location (at General San. Miguel St. Sangandaan, Caloocan City) when the first building burned.

In January 23, 2004 Caloocan City Council unanimously approved the Ordinance 1020-2003 principally authored by then councilor Gonzalez Jr. authorized the city government to convert the existing Caloocan City Polytechnic College into a full-pledged university. The initially city hall-funded tertiary educational institution will henceforth be called as University of Caloocan City, the lone public university in Caloocan.

Interview Tips!

For seniors, it's now the time to bid their universities' goodbye & welcome the real world of the corporate world. Trust me, it brings mixed emotions. They are excited, sad, dreadful, & of course happy. Excited to finally work & have their own incomes, sad for leaving their friends & the school[structure] they have come to love, dreadful for the uncertain future[Why if I don't get a job after graduation?]and of course the overwhelming happiness for finally being able to emerge as survivors from the grueling tasks, homework, exams and also to be finally free from terror professors.

Anyway, that's not really my point. Why I'm writing this post is to orient the soon-to-be newly graduates about the interviews. I have viewed some from youtube so I'm sharing it to you guys.

What follows are the usual questions asked by the interviwer during the interview. So better be prepared.

Video Credits: JobStreetPH's Channel

1. What are your strengths & weaknesses?

2. Tell me something about yourself.

3. Why do you want to work for this company?

4. Why should we hire you?

So there. For more videos you can CLICK HERE.

I hope you guys enjoy it!

Just Another Photo Update!

What Have You Done UCCian??

I've visited the Recom Building today, Sunday August 29.

...just a usual sight seeing in the school...

One room caught my attention though.

..this is located in the ground floor!

the dirt scattered everywhere.

A plastic of water

OMG!!

graffiti on the newly painted wall.

What's does this all imply?

We UCCians don't know how to take care of our FACILITIES.

It's not the Administration's fault. We just can't afford to pay a lot off MAINTENANCE staff...

Why don't we do it ourselves? Not that we have to clean.

We just have to be responsible in throwing our garbage & using the facilities.

haisst...

ang sakit niyo sa ulo!

sana mahuli kung sin man may gawa niyan!

Bakit Yellow Ang New Building?

(Camarin Campus)

(thanks to OVERHEARD in UCC from Facebook for this trivia!

and also the admin of the said Page noted that the info was from Sir Rhod Dantay. So thank you to bothe of them!)

They are as follows:

Meaning of the Color Yellow

Yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts. How the color yellow affects us mentally and physically

* Mentally stimulating

* Stimulates the nervous system

* Activates memory

* Encourages communication

Psychology of Color: Yellow

Cheerful yellow the color of the sun, associated with laughter, happiness and good times. A person surrounded by yellow feels optimistic because the brain actually releases more seratonin (feel good chemical in the brain) when around this color. It is the color associated with optimism but be careful with yellow, when intense, it is the color of flames and studies show babies cry more in (bright) yellow rooms and tempers flare more around that color too. It has the power to speed up our metabolism and bring out some creative thoughts (legal tablets are yellow for good reason!). Yellow can be quickly overpowering if over-used, but used sparingly in the just the right place it can be an effective tool in marketing to greater sales. Some shades of yellow are associated with cowardice; but the more golden shades with the promise of better times.

First Day of School ..almost

June 7, 2010

- Monday

is the first day of our school!

No one can be more excited than the FRESHMEN of course.

There are new challenges ahead of us so let's be BRAVE.

We'll also meet new friends & interesting personalities which includes professors & school faculty.

Some will be worth respecting but some will just be a pain in the ass.

But surely they will be just another character in your story...fulfilling their roles.

*******

Questions..questions..questions.....

1. Kelan ang PASUKAN?

Answe: June 7, 2010 - Monday

2. San po makikita ang mga SCHEDULE??

Answer: this will vary depending on your course.

3. Maguuniform na ba?

Answer: For the OLD students being in complete UNIFORM will be a requirement!
For FRESHMEN you'll be given I think one week allowance to provide your uniform.

FYI: The school sells sets of uniforms so if you are in a rush pwede na lang kayo bumili dun.
The price? - (this post to be updated)

Answer: Yes. The SCHEDULES are already assigned based on your section/block.
However, You can change them to suit your available time in case you are a working student.
You can choose your desired schedule & professor provided that it has the same subject title.

There is a specific schedule for this. It will be posted & announced by the registrar. Just make sure to be aware. Visit the Registrar's office every now & then. Pag tapos na tapos na di na pwedeng HUMABOL.

we call this as ADDING/CHANGING of subjects.

5. San makakabili ng PE Uniforms?

Answer: Registrar's office.

6. Panu magdrop ng SUBJECTS?

Answer: IF the students have some problems & couldn't attend the class(es) anymore he/she should make sure to file an OFFICIAL DROPPED form to the registrar. This will require signatures of your professor & department head.

7. Why is there a NEED for number 6?

Answer: Kapag di po na OFFICIALLY DROPPED ang subjects it will appear on your TOR (transcript of records) and it will not be a very good record when you are already applying for a job!

Thanks for READING people~!
