Londg queues are usual scenes in UCC during the month of May. The month of ENROLLMENT.

..students sweat...complain...fall in line..meet friends/classmates.

along with the hardship...we make sure to get something to relax for. That's where we now make "kupits"

hahha..that's true..I'm sure a lot of us do that.

But not me.

Fortunately that day WE were only scheduled to pay our ORG FEE (Psych Society-40.00 + adviser's form 5.00 = 45.00). And we're accomodated in an airconditioned room.

I got to meet some of my friends..and classmates.

hi! tanong lang po, san po ba ang CR sa UCC Camarin bukod sa Educ building?
--- sira kasi yung sa Educ . test namin last sat, walang CR na ok. dumating
ako around 8 at naiihi na ko, 9am pa ang exam, tapos sira ang CR, at kahit
nagtanong pa ako sa labas

wala talaga akong napakiusapan. malapit na 9am kaya bumalik na ako sa
UCC, tatlong oras akong
nagtiis, ihing-ihing na ako during the exam.

Yes, this has been a problem for quite along time now...

madumi...mabaho ang CR natin. Madaming SSC generation na ang nagattempt na ayusin ito..naayos naman..napinturahan..nalinis..(ng konti)

pero ang serbisyo nito ay pareho pa din..

mga apat ng cubicles atah yun (Girls CR)

pero I think only 2 are functional.

Let's HOPE & PRAY this NEED will be addressed SOON.

UCCians..let's also REMEMBER that we should know how to maintain & observe the CLEANLINESS of the facilities given to US. We also have a role to make this possible.

..ayan!!! panibagong taon na naman ang madadagdag satin..next SY 4th year na ako..I can't believe how transient time is...

parang kelang lang.......

.....Mayo ng taong 2007..nakapila ako sa UCC main..ang daming tao...naiiyak na ako nun..kasi pumasa ako sa PUP pero di ako natuloy...naattract lang akong magentrance exam sa UCC dahil may AB PSYCHOLOGY na course na nakapaskil sa dingding..medyo di na nga yun mabasa nun eh....ayoko sana talaga...ayun sa dami ng pinilahan..sa dami ng pawis na tumulo...sa dami ng taong pinakiusapan..sa dami ng araw na absent ako nun sa trabaho...at sa dami ng hiniraman ko ng ballpen..natapos din magpasa ng requirements para sa exam...natapos din.

EXAM DAY....

..sunod ang entrance exam na ginanap sa Camarin...absent uli sa trabaho nun..2nd o 3rd to the last batch ng examinees atah ako nun...

dala ko nun ang mga sumusunod:

1. kapirasong papel na naglalaman ng schedule at kung anong room ako mageexam.
2. 2 lapis na Mongol
3. sarili kong medyo tuliro dahil sa byahe (from Taguig all the way to Camarin..di ko pa alam Camarin nun)
4. scratch paper

..exam..exam..exam..

kahit wala ako sa mood magexam pinilit kong sagutan ang mga tanong sa abot ng aking makakaya...kinalawang na utak ko dahil tumigil ako sa pag-aaral..

Inertia, Cell, Subject-Verb Agreement, Perimeter, Area..Isoscles Triangle, Rhombus, Trapezoid..tsk tsk....naging tunog bago sakin... sigurado ako alam ko yun DATI bago ang exam..pero nung araw na yun di ko na makapa sa isip ko...para silang alien sa aking mundo..never been heard..never met..pinakiramdaman ko na lang ang answer..kung di pamilyar di yun..instinct na lang kumbaga...

ang damit ko literal pwede ng mapigaan ng pawis. dumadagundong pa nun sa main...lakaran sa taas..baba...pila sa x ray...hanap si ganito..akyat....accounting...punta sa MIS...punta ng City Hall..pilaa..uli..

padyak..balik sa school..pilaaa uli...tayo..ng 1 1/2 hrs. usog..umaandar na pila..sa wakas..salamat..naeexcite na ako..toogoodoog..malapit ko ng mahawakang ang upuan..may upuan..makakaupo na ako...may ipapasingit si isa..maya maya .."uy friend....brhhhrhhh....wosshhhoooo.." napahikab ako sa ka nonsensan ng pinaguusapan..pagdilat ko ayun!! 7 na mga maaarteng babae nasa harap ko na..ang dating abot kamay na upuan...binitbit nah. sa malayo. napaupo na ako sa sahig. sumanday sa pader at tumulala...nawala ata ako sa aking ulirat at pagmulat ko may hawak na kong mga papel..

Next stop -- Psych Dept.

Wow!! Aircon!! sayang. sana mahaba na lang pila dun..kahit makatulog pa ako okay lang..pero wala eh..walang pila..kinuha agad mga papel na hawak ko. Ang Test Result..from na may mga course..at ayun binigyan ako ng bond paper...

di naman..so ayun tinagalan ko para makapagaircon pa uli..dinesignan ko pa ng kung anu anu ang bahay at tautauhan na mala tingting..araw, kurtina, halaman, kotse,baby, punongkahoy, bunga, eroplano, ulap, kotse..hay dnamihan ko talga.

taz story telling,,and predictions ni madam ate.. "dependent ka sa mama mo?" -- di naman sa lob loob ko. hmm?? ano to?

yun na pala yun! ang HTP.


alis na...bawala na dw uli magdrawing..pilaaaa na naman.

pagabi na...mga 6:15 atah..nakapila pa din ako.ayun habol!

..looking back..while writing this...I realized...I've been through a lot...and I will go through a lot again...but everyday I seem to be a better and more mature person..thanks to everything I've been exposed to in UCC..whether good..or bad...it all made me into who I am now.

at yung time na nasa state of (_________________________________________) kawalan ako about my test result ay hahantong pala sa ganito.. it all makes sense now!

so sa mga mag-eexam diyan at mag-eenroll....treasure that moment you are waiting & falling in line..for you may not know..that is a big leap from who you were to who you will be..and maybe in the future..you will be relating & sharing your experience just like me.

the truth is... I can't sleep enough thinking of the coming elections. not because there will be a rainshower of crispy 100 and 500 peso bills but because of the thought that I can at least be part of my country's struggle... I will not just be an "audience". I will actually take part!! yehey!!

this will be my first time. I wanna feel & experience it first hand.....

just like the indelible ink applied to our fingers after we have voted...I am hoping to also leave an indelible mark by excercising my right to vote. I hope majority of the youth of UCC is with me in this endeavor. let's not just sit back & see our nation sink into the mud. let's not inculcate in our minds & to our future children's that leaving the country is the only resort. we can still make this nation a better place to live. let's us believe.

The New UCC Building -- to be fully functional in SY 2010-2011

It's been confirmed!! ---- the new UCC building in Camarin will be fully functional next school year. (SY 2010-2011) I am so excited!! -- unfortunately the seniors now won't be able to use it..too bad for them..pero okay lang at least nakita nila?? (pede n bang consolation yun?)

hehhe anyways..according to my source, Prof. Joan Tulod all the 16 rooms will be divided into two so all in all we will have 32 new classrooms next year!! and...magkakaroon na daw po ng HRM na course. gusto daw yun ni Mayor Recom. 5 rooms will be alotted to them as their laboratory.. so pwede ng ipamalita!!

when I was walking in the street behind the NOW UCC I couldn't help myself but smile & be proud..it was truly a good structure..sending me a message that soon I can justify proudly that my school is indeed a great one!!! not just basing on the graduates it produces but also on it's structure.

yung likod ngayon ay gagawing harap..there we'll see the front view of the school beaming proudly it's name. there's the arch which is a typical structure in almost all universities.

pero habang naglalkad ako nun nagsisi ako..wala akog camerang dala! too bad..but surely next time will never be the same.

For those UCCians who want to purseu their studies but without sufficient fund then this is a good news! ( i think not a good news anyore for this has been known for several years. I am just simply reminding you guys about this)

It's the STUDY NOW PAY LATER PROGRAM of CHED or Commission on Higher Education. I find it selfish of me if I will not share this to my fellow UCCians. I know how we struggle to survive, pass our tests, & sometimes go to school without baon. So I hope this could help you guys.

This is an educational program of the government designed to
promote democratization of access to educational opportunities in the tertiary
level to poor but deserving students through financial assistance in the form of

Heroes of the Modern UCC - The working Students

Credits: Sorry I randomly searched the pics above from google images.

Lurking around UCC, observing students, eavesdropping & roaming the streets & mall have awakened my mind about my fellow UCCians dillema. They or should I say WE are all crying for our expenses.

Majority of us is poor. We pay a maximum of 3,000 pesos & a minimum of 800 pesos tution fee yet we still cry for help. Fortunately , we have learned not only to ask for tissue paper to wipe our tears but also to wipe it & worked it out. We are the working students, who I think is becoming a major hero of our own lives. We learned that nothing can take us out of the situation unless we do something about it & we do it vigorously. The heroes I'm talking about are found in SM supermarket, hypermarket, Jollibbee, McDonalds, call centers & on the streets late at night or nearly dawn struggling to survive, & brave the way to classrooms with so little sleep. Sometimes we pride ourselves as those experienced in jobs even before graduation but on the other side we are "missers". We miss a lot of school activities which are supposedly harnessing our talents & gifts. We miss the bonding times with our friends & classmates. We miss some lessons due to absences & tardiness. We miss a lot. But we are still thnakful that we are given the chance to change the path to take in the future.

Buhay Working Student

I miss the times when I greet & text every body a "gudnyt" & asleep afterwards. Since I worked here as a phone english teacher to koreans I've been sending them "goodmorning" & sleep afterwards. That's been one of my sentiments. A lot of my friends, classmates, schoolmates envy me for that. They are missing something so simple & unnoticable yet very significant to me. The time to do everything & at the same time have some time to savor them so that the memory lingers.

Everything in my world now is under time pressure. There's this alarm clock that keeps ticking inside my head whenever I'm in school. I have to hurry. There is no single minute to waste & appreciate little things that really makes me happy. When I get some so liittle free time, I have to spend them with my bed. I have to rest my tired body. Even the 30-minute break which should be used for some quality time with classmates should be used to compensate for my lack of sleep.

I know that I'm doing the right thing. But not all right things make us happy. I am happy to where I am now. But I'm sad for what I've been missing the whole time.
